Beachfront Hen House with Cave Bar | Anglesey | Sleeps 13

The space

Bring the bride tribe to the water’s edge at this spectacular Anglesey Beach House, a waterside home for up to 13 guests on the Menai Straits. Set in an elevated position near Menai Bridge, the house looks out across the sea, Bangor Pier and the Snowdonia mountain range, so every coffee, cocktail and group dinner comes with a seriously impressive backdrop.

This is a brilliant choice for a hen weekend that wants more than just a place to sleep. You have your own private beach access, terraced gardens leading down to the shoreline, sea-view social spaces and even a converted cave bar beneath the house. It feels special without being stiff: grand Victorian character, comfortable interiors and plenty of room for everyone to gather, get ready, eat, drink and celebrate.

The house is arranged over four floors, giving the group space to spread out while still feeling connected. Whether you are planning a relaxed coastal weekend, a classy dinner party, a beachy BBQ, or a mix of local pubs, watersports and slow mornings with a view, this Menai Bridge stay gives you a memorable base for the whole celebration.

Inside the house

The property sleeps 6 to 13 guests across six double bedrooms, all with their own en suite bathrooms. That makes a big difference for hen groups: less queuing for showers, easier getting-ready time, and a little more privacy at the end of the night. The bathrooms have been recently renovated with limestone finishes and underfloor heating, adding a lovely boutique feel to the morning routine. There is also a baby or toddler nursery if anyone in the group is bringing a little one.

Communal space is generous and full of character. The lounge has a fireplace for cosy evenings in, while the formal dining room is made for a celebratory meal, hen party supper, or a dressed-up toast to the bride-to-be. The kitchen and breakfast room give you practical space for brunches, grazing boards, pre-dinner fizz and lazy post-night-out breakfasts.

For entertainment, the house includes WiFi, a Smart TV and a Sonos sound system, so you can set the playlist for getting ready, dinner, or a chilled night in. There is also a vintage billiards table, ideal for a casual tournament, icebreaker games, or a bit of friendly competition between the group. The overall feel is relaxed, homely and traditional rather than overly polished, which suits a group weekend where comfort matters just as much as style.

Hen weekend highlights

The outdoor areas are a real highlight for a hen celebration. There is a terrace with a dining table and lounge seating overlooking the Menai Straits, giving you a beautiful spot for drinks, BBQ food, group photos and long chats in the fresh air. The garden paths lead down towards the private beach area, where you can wander along the shoreline, watch the boats pass, hunt for mussels, or simply sit out with a cold drink and enjoy the view.

While there is no hot tub listed at the property, the setting more than delivers on special occasion atmosphere. Private beach access, sea views from the house, terraced gardens and that converted cave bar give the weekend a sense of occasion that feels a little different from the usual hen house. The cave beneath the house, the nearby waterfall and the ancient oak trees along the shore add a playful, adventurous edge for groups who like exploring.

The BBQ is a great option for a relaxed Saturday feast, especially if you want to keep the celebration at the house rather than booking every meal out. Set up drinks on the terrace, put music on through the Sonos system, and make the most of the garden and sea views as your backdrop. Inside, the billiards table works brilliantly for games between activities, and the fireplace lounge is ideal for winding down later in the evening.

Dog-friendly stays may be possible by request, with up to two medium well-behaved dogs welcome, which is handy if the bride’s four-legged friend is part of the celebration.

Location & getting around

The house is in a sought-after spot close to Menai Bridge and Beaumaris, putting you within easy reach of bars, restaurants, shops and coastal walks. Menai Bridge is a lovely base for a hen weekend because it gives you access to good food, drinks and scenery without feeling too hectic. Beaumaris is also nearby for castle views, waterfront strolls, independent shops and relaxed meals out.

One of the best local perks is the pub just 200m away. The Gazelle is close enough to reach via the garden path, making it a very easy option for a low-effort meal, a few drinks, or a first-night gathering without needing taxis. For supplies, the area includes convenient shops, including Waitrose nearby.

If your group wants activities, Anglesey and North Wales have plenty to offer. Think coastal walking, cycling, climbing, nature watching, watersports, local produce tasting and even zip wire adventures within reach. The A55 expressway is easily accessible, helping guests arrive and making day trips straightforward. Or, if the plan is simply to stay put, the private beach, terrace, gardens and views give you every reason to slow down and enjoy the house.
