Inside the house

The main house sleeps up to 13 guests across six bedrooms, with a mix of superking, king, double, twin and family-room sleeping arrangements. The master bedroom is a real treat, with a superking bed, an en-suite roll-top bath and views over the Wye Valley. There is also a kingsize room and twin room sharing a family bathroom, plus a downstairs family room with a double bed, single bed, sofa and en-suite bathroom. In the cottage end of the house, you’ll find an additional double bedroom upstairs, a family bathroom and a twin room downstairs.

Communal space is one of the biggest strengths here. The large open-plan kitchen is the natural hub of the weekend, with big sofas, a TV and a cosy log burner, so the group can cook, chat and relax in one sociable space. There is also a striking double-height lounge with sofas, a flatscreen TV, DVD player, books, maps and a pine table and chairs, giving you another generous area for hosting drinks, games or a laid-back movie night.

For active hens, the surrounding area offers plenty to build into the weekend. Offa’s Dyke is close by, and the river Wye is within sight, making the location great for countryside walks, scenic photo stops and outdoor adventures. Depending on the season and your group’s plans, you could look into canoeing on the Wye, guided walks, local food experiences, vineyard visits, craft workshops or a private chef back at the house.

Because this is a rural Powys border location, having cars or pre-booked transport is recommended, especially for supermarket runs, activities and evenings out. The benefit is that once you arrive, you have a peaceful base with space, privacy and no need to rush between venues.
