The 7-foot dining table is ideal for hen party meals, Mr and Mrs games, cocktail making, speeches, or spreading out decorations and gift bags.

The lounge is cosy and comfortable, giving the group a relaxed spot for movie nights, playlists, pre-dinner drinks or catching up after a day out. Patio doors open directly onto the deck, so the indoor and outdoor spaces flow together beautifully when the weather is kind.

There are 4 bedrooms sleeping 4 to 8 guests. Upstairs bedrooms can be arranged as super kings or twins, which is really useful for a hen group with friends, sisters, cousins and mums all sharing. The ground-floor double bedroom is handy for anyone who prefers to avoid stairs. With 3 modern bathrooms, including an en suite in the main bedroom, the morning getting-ready routine is much smoother than in many country cottages. Location & getting around

The Deer Den sits near Clyst Hydon, close to Cullompton in the Devon countryside. It feels wonderfully tucked away, yet it is practical for groups travelling from different directions, with the M5 around 15 minutes away. That makes arrivals much easier for hens coming from across the South West, Midlands or further afield.

You are within walking distance of a local shop and a highly recommended pub, so you do not have to rely on cars for every little plan. A circular walk across the surrounding farmland takes in Clyst Hydon and Plymtree, which is a lovely way to build an appetite before a pub meal or clear heads the morning after the celebrations.

For a bigger day or evening out, Exeter is less than 30 minutes away, offering restaurants, cocktail bars, shopping and more of a city-night-out feel. Taunton is also under 30 minutes, giving you another option for group dining or activities. If the bride loves the coast, beaches at Exmouth, Lyme Regis and Seaton can be reached in around half an hour, so a seaside brunch, paddle, coastal walk or beach photoshoot can easily be part of the itinerary.

Nearby attractions include Ashclyst Forest, Wildwood Devon at Escot, The Bear Trail and National Trust properties, giving plenty of options for mixed-age groups or hens who want more than one plan across the weekend.
