Nights are the main event. The format is pure participation. pub warmth first, karaoke courage after. with Westgate Street putting the Theatre Royal, the Abbey and Bath's wine bars within a few minutes for the before and after.
For hen parties, karaoke pubs hold a special honour: zero skill required, total group involvement guaranteed and the bride's rendition remembered at weddings forever. For hens who want Bath loud, late and harmony-optional, The Cork is the Westgate answer.

Frequently asked questions
What is The Cork?
We are a Bath institution at 11-12 Westgate Buildings: a characterful Young's pub in a former debtors' prison, with two bars, a conservatory, a large south-facing terrace onto James Street West, and two vaulted party pods. Historically a debtors' prison, these days the only sentence is a good night: live sport, DJs, events all week and food until late.
What are the karaoke pods?
Home to Bath's longest-running private karaoke pods, we are made for big voices and even bigger nights: two private pods packed with over 80,000 tracks, from classic belters to guilty pleasures. Our large private pod holds up to 15 people to sing, celebrate and let loose in your own exclusive setting. Pod hire is £50 off-peak (Sunday to Thursday) and £65 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Can we book The Cork for a hen party?
Our pods are perfect for stag and hen parties: your own room, your own playlist, no audience but your own. Book the large pod for up to 15 singers, fuel up on sourdough pizzas and pub classics (food served 12pm until late), and let the rest of the pub carry the night afterwards. A function area is also available for larger parties; call us on 01225 333582 to plan it.
What else is on?
Plenty: Retro Games Nights every Monday and Tuesday, DJs every Friday, Drag Queen Bingo on the last Thursday of the month, live sport across the bars, and a terrace that is the jewel in our crown on sunny days. Arrive early for the best terrace seats.
Do we need to book the pods?
We recommend it, particularly for Friday and Saturday peak nights: pod hire is £65 at peak and £50 Sunday to Thursday. Book through thecork.co.uk or call 01225 333582. The pub itself welcomes walk-ins across both bars and the terrace.
Where are you, and is the venue accessible?
You will find us at 11-12 Westgate Buildings, Bath (BA1 1EB), within walking distance of Bath Spa station and all the city centre attractions. Honestly on access: our ground floor bar is accessible and has an accessible toilet, but due to the nature of the historic building we are not fully accessible and the top floor is reached via steps from Westgate Buildings. Email [email protected] with any questions.

Drinks were fine but the state of the toilets is totally unacceptable. I was shocked, I can’t believe it’s so poorly kept, it made me feel sad really. It’s a Tuesday afternoon & it was like this. The Cork used to be cared for years ago, even if it was a lively venue. This is just so gross.

Staff always nice, but very hit or miss whether you’re going to find them serving food. Came today and while the kitchen is “usually” already open around now according to the lovely girl on bar, it just doesn’t seem to be happening today & she seemed unsure on why. A while back their chef was apparently injured so they weren’t serving. Just reallyyyy inconsistent. Had already bought a fairly pricey glass of wine before enquiring about food. ATP may as well become bank staff so I can hop into the kitchen and make some chips myself.

Nat was an absolute shining star sent from the heavens above, such an angel wish I could have stayed all evening just in his company. Ned was brilliant as well what a super human young man, honerable mention to will as well. SUCH AMAZING CREATURES XXXX You keep these gems and keep them well 😇😇👏👏👏
