Do you run hen party cookery sessions?
We love them. Our hen party packages are built around your group. chocolate making, cupcake decorating, pasta making, themed cook-and-dine (Italian, Thai, tapas, Moroccan), cheese and wine, or a Ready Steady Cook-style challenge. and you sit down together afterwards to eat what you've made.

How long is a session, and where does it happen?
Sessions typically run 2, 3 hours at our purpose-built, glass-fronted cookery school at Harts Barn Craft Centre in Longhope, in the Forest of Dean. or we can come to you at your home or holiday accommodation.
What could we cook?
Almost anything: profiteroles, cupcakes, chocolates and sweets, pasta, a full themed cook-and-dine, foraged feasts, or a combined cook-and-craft party (mosaics, pot painting, fascinators). Dietary quirks are welcome. we've built bake-off style parties around a bride with multiple intolerances.
Is there a bar, and can we eat outside?
Yes. We have a licensed bar and dining room (The Apple Barn), plus an outdoor cooking and dining area with a wood-fired clay oven, fire pit and barbecue overlooking the Forest of Dean hills.
Do you only do hen parties?
No. alongside hens and stags we run a big calendar of public classes (breads, butchery and BBQ, chocolate, curries and more), supper clubs, venue hire for up to 60 and a hire-a-chef service for self-catering stays.

I have just come back from celebrating my Wife’s 60th Birthday at The Hudnalls Hideout and Yvette helped me organise a private chef as a surprise. Yvette helped through the whole process, advising and helping on menu choice. Nothing was too much trouble. Joe the chef cooked us a memorable meal and was both engaging and discreet at the same time. A wonderful experience and made my Wife’s Birthday unforgettable. Thank you so much.

We had a wonderful time at 'Harts Barn Cookery School' with our 'Forage and Feast' Hosts Joe & Rob. From a lovely warm welcome, to a fabulous and relaxing meal at the end. It was a real pleasure and great value experience. Rob's knowledge on Foraging was fantastic and he had plenty to talk about. We barely made it 5 footsteps before entertaining us about foraging activities. It was such a wonderful time and not once did I feel pressured about the time constraints. The day seemed like we had plenty of time, but before you know it, it was 12:00. Despite this, Rob didn't hurry on back or change his pace of delivery, he continued to entertain and teach us. Once back into the Kitchen, Joe flexed his Chef skills and instructed us on how to make our food with our foraged goodies. This really was the cherry on top of what was already an eventful day. Joe kindly guided us into making a fantastic feast. Yet again, I felt no pressure for time here, just a wonderful experience and encouragement from both Rob and Joe. Finally we sat down to enjoy a wonderful feast with our fabulous hosts. It was a real treat to have them both join us for dinner. Thank You both for a wonderful time. I can highly recommend this workshop and ai hope to do this again.

Attended the Lamb Butchery Course at Harts Barn cookery school. Under Chef Joseph and with help from John from @themeathut, i learned a LOT about smoking and butchering ready for the summer. truely awesome setup they have there. The kitchen is so well equipped and the smoking/bbq area has eveything you could imagine for the job. Super knowledgeable, friendly and funny guys should be really proud of what theyre achieving there. Left with a mammoth amount of Lamb too which was amazing to see the end-to-end process. I cant wait to get involved with more courses and to check out the supper clubs they run there too. cant recommend enough. -Red Cap
