Wye Valley Hen Manor with Pool & Hot Tub | Sleeps 16

The space

Set in the heart of the Wye Valley, Fawley Court is a statement manor house for hens who want their weekend to feel spacious, special and a little bit indulgent. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, lakes and countryside views, it gives your group that big-house energy from the moment you arrive: sweeping grounds, elegant reception rooms, a proper Great Hall and plenty of places to gather, dress up, wind down and celebrate the bride-to-be.

This is a brilliant choice for groups who want the fun of a private house party with the comfort of a countryside retreat. You can spend the afternoon around the indoor swimming pool, pour fizz in the walled garden, book a private chef for a celebratory dinner, or keep things relaxed with games, a barbecue and hot tub time. With accommodation for up to 16 guests across 13 bedrooms, there is a great balance of social space and privacy, so everyone can enjoy the weekend at their own pace.

Inside the house

The centrepiece of the house is the Great Hall, a dramatic dining and gathering space with a huge fireplace and room for the whole group to sit down together. It is ideal for a bride tribe banquet, a themed dinner, a murder mystery evening, or a dressed-up final night meal before heading into nearby Ross-on-Wye for drinks. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed for group catering, whether you are cooking brunch yourselves, arranging grazing boards, or bringing in a private chef for a no-stress celebration meal.

Leading off the Great Hall are three reception rooms, giving the group plenty of flexibility. The Drawing Room works beautifully for drinks, games or pre-dinner photos, while the snug offers comfy seating and a TV for anyone who wants a quieter moment. There is also a lounge with a card table and chess board, which is great for low-key entertainment between activities.

Bedrooms are spread across the house, with 13 in total, including 4 en suites. A further 5 bathrooms and a downstairs loo help keep getting-ready time running smoothly, especially when everyone is preparing for a big night out. Bedding, linen and towels are provided, so your group can pack lighter and focus on the outfits, decorations and hen weekend extras.

Hen weekend highlights

Fawley Court has the kind of amenities that make it easy to keep the party flowing without needing to leave the house. The indoor swimming pool is a real standout for a hen weekend: think relaxed morning swims, poolside chats, or a fun afternoon session before everyone gets glammed up. The hot tub seats up to 8, making it a lovely spot for fizz, catch-ups and chilled spa-style moments across the weekend.

The games room is another major bonus for mixed-energy groups. With a large TV, pool table, dart boards, table football and lots of seating, it is ready-made for hen party challenges, team games, forfeits, playlist battles or a casual night in. It also gives the group a separate space for entertainment, so some guests can play while others relax in the lounges or gardens.

Outside, the walled garden and conservatory offer seating for the whole group, plus a barbecue for sunny lunches, evening feasts or a laid-back recovery day. The wider gardens are wonderful for wandering, photo moments and fresh air between celebrations, with interconnected lakes that attract local wildlife. It is a gorgeous backdrop for matching robes, flower crowns, garden games or a slower Sunday morning.

Location & getting around

Fawley Court sits in Herefordshire, close to Ross-on-Wye and surrounded by the Wye Valley countryside. This area is known for scenic views, riverside walks, pretty villages, outdoor activities and relaxed country pubs, so it suits groups who want more than just a place to sleep. You could plan a wholesome daytime itinerary with walks, canoeing, vineyard visits, afternoon tea or a pub lunch, then come back to the house for pool time, hot tub drinks and dinner together.

Ross-on-Wye is the natural local hub for shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants, while Herefordshire’s countryside setting gives the house a private, tucked-away feel. For evenings out, it is best to pre-book taxis or minibus transport so the whole group can travel together and return easily. If guests are arriving from different parts of the UK, sharing lifts or arranging a group transfer can make the journey simpler, especially with weekend bags and decorations in tow.

The location works particularly well for hens who like the idea of a country-house celebration rather than a busy city break. You can dip into local activities when you want them, but the house itself has enough space and entertainment to make staying in feel like part of the plan.
