They also rent a flat above the bar (sea views, kitchen, Smart TV). Only book it if your group likes noise: live music until 4am weekends, maintenance ~7am.

The Closet on Maiden Street: LGBTQ+ club, pop, drag, VIP booths. Hen groups end up here a lot.

Not every hour needs to be high-octane. These are what people often remember: pottery with the bride's mum, vineyard morning, spa when someone's fragile from Friday.

The Secret Garden Spa at Jubilee Hotel on the Esplanade: massages, facials, private hot tub and sauna. Open 10am-8pm daily.

Max 5 for treatments: stagger slots for bigger groups. Online booking: 100% deposit upfront; phone: 50%. Cancel inside 24 hours: full charge. Medical form before arrival.

Gone Potty: pottery painting in town centre. Seated, cheap, gets people talking. Mon-Sat 10am-3pm, book ahead.

5. Transport, Parking and Booking

This saves you a £100 parking fine and a missed boat slot.

Getting there

Train is the easy option. Weymouth station: 15-minute walk to harbour and Esplanade. No parking wars, no designated driver.

If you drive: Dorset Council issued 837 parking notices in one bank holiday weekend on seafront, harbourside, Ferry Road. Ten guests in separate cars hunting bays in the one-way system is misery.

Parking that works:

• Swannery (DT4 7TY): long-stay, 10-15 min walk to harbour. Best overnight if no driveway.
• Harbourside (DT4 8NA): 94 spaces, no height limit, JustPark to extend if boats run late.
• Pavilion (DT4 8DZ): free after 6pm. Coastal Vibes evening sailings.

Avoid Brewer's Quay (Parking Eye, £100 fines, nasty appeals), Harbour Slipway (DT4 8LY) (permit-only, fines to £2,500), and EV bays if you're not charging.

Pre-book Weyline Taxis app for runs to coastal activity sites. No reliable group bus timing.
