You can stroll across the fields into nearby Plymtree for a pub lunch or to pick up supplies from the local shop. For bigger shopping, restaurants and evening plans, Exeter is around 25 minutes away, giving you the option of a city night out, cocktails, brunch, escape rooms, shopping or a more polished dinner before heading back to your countryside base.

Beach-loving hens are also well placed. Lyme Regis, Exmouth and other Devon and Dorset coastal spots are within roughly 30 minutes, so you can add a seaside day trip, paddleboarding, fish and chips, coastal walks or beach photos to the itinerary.
