Hen Party Guest
We had a wonderful time at Ridgeway house for a friends hen do. Iris, the host, was helpful all the way through - giving us useful suggestions on things to do as well as providing clear instructions on the property and how to get there (particularly important given its remote location).
We wanted a peaceful location where everyone could have their own space but we could also come together for activities across the weekend and Ridgeway house delivered on this.
Thanks for helping us have a brilliant weekend and sending our friend into married life in style.
What a wonderful weekend away in a beautiful location. Iris has been very helpful all the way through and gave lots of great advice to help improve our stay. I would highly recommend this house for a hen do (as this was the purpose of our stay) but i would also happily return for a family holiday. a truly wonderful experience
Lambourn House is the perfect location for a party or celebration of any occasion.
Set in the heart of the country side, the house is thoughtfully decorated and accessorised, kept and maintained to the highest of standards.
Family and staff across the site we’re extremely accommodating and, whilst supporting when necessary, helped to ensure we had a memorable stay.
Iris is an exceptional host and I’d recommend Lambourn House to any party staying in the area.
An amazing house set in the beautiful countryside of Lambourn. Iris was extremely helpful and responsive in the run up to the event and gave lots of local tips for our trip. The house is amazing - a beautiful setting with very comfortable beds and great rooms. We went for my sisters hen do and everyone was very impressed with the location and look of the house. A wonderful place to stay would definitely recommend!
We stayed at the house for my sisters hen party. We were given clear precise instructions of how to get to the property plus a big welcome pack letting us know all about the area. Iris was friendly and happy to answer any questions we had about the property. The house was perfect for our weekend as it had a large dining room that easily sat 18 people plus a seperate living room and many bedrooms with 4 bathrooms. The area is quiet and private. We had an absolutely amazing time staying here and we didn’t want to leave!
Lambourn Hen Party Houses: Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers about booking, neighbourhoods, budgets and group fit for hen party houses in Lambourn.
Is Lambourn a good hen base?
Yes, if your group wants downland walks, Newbury races day trips and country pub evenings with Oxford forty minutes away.
Why is Lambourn famous?
Lambourn sits on the Berkshire Downs where top racehorse trainers use the open gallops. Racing yard culture is part of local life even if your group is not horsey.
Do we need a car near Lambourn?
Yes. Lambourn is downland remote. Newbury, Hungerford and supermarkets all require driving.
How far is Newbury from Lambourn?
Newbury with Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) nearby is about twenty minutes for shopping and racecourse events.
Can we visit Highclere Castle?
Highclere opens on limited dates and books out quickly. Check the calendar before you promise the group a Downton day.
Are hen parties welcome in Lambourn?
On Hen Hideaways, yes. We only list houses that accept celebration groups. Lambourn works when you treat the garden as your main venue once the pubs shut.
Lambourn or Newbury?
Newbury has more shops and restaurants. Lambourn is the prettier racing village.
What is the one Lambourn booking mistake?
Promising a Highclere Castle visit without checking open dates. The estate books out months ahead and closes between events.
