The farmhouse is located in Gradbach, a tiny hamlet on the banks of the River Dane, close to Buxton in the Peak District. It is a brilliant base if your hen weekend plans include countryside activities, scenic walks or a mix of relaxation and exploring. The Roaches, one of the UK’s best-known climbing destinations, is nearby, and Lud’s Church, a dramatic hidden chasm in the woods, is also close for a memorable group walk.

Buxton is around a 15-minute drive away, giving you access to shops, cafes, restaurants, markets, the Opera House and a swimming pool. It is a lovely option for a daytime wander, afternoon tea, dinner out or a more polished evening with the group. Leek is also about 15 minutes away, with independent shops, pubs and places to eat.

For a fuller Peak District itinerary, Bakewell, Tideswell, Hartington, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are all within reach by car. We would recommend planning taxis or designated drivers in advance if you are heading out in the evening, as the property’s secluded setting is part of its charm.
