17 of us stayed in the house for a hen weekend and had the most brilliant time. From the beginning Ann was so helpful and flexible with check in times. The house is huge and is well stocked with crockery, glasses, utensils, linen etc etc. The surroundings are beautiful and the enjoyed use of the new hot tub! The decor is a little tired looking and parts could do with a bit of a refurbishment, some of the sofas etc were threadbare and marked. This did not however take away from how impressive the house is with fantastic features such as wood burning fires and a bar.Luxe Victorian Hen House with Hot Tub | Argyll | Sleeps 16

A wonderful place for a large gathering, we had a special birthday with more than a dozen family members and the house had ample space for everyone. Host contact was top notch, and The Hollies was exactly as described.Pool Hen House | Tighnabruaich | Sleeps 16

This is a beautiful home and the pictures don't do it justice. Graeme and Lorraine were super helpful and even arranged to have food ready in the pantry when we arrived. Wonderful stay and location for a relaxing time.Pool Hen House | Tighnabruaich | Sleeps 16
Clachan Hen Party Houses: Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers about booking, neighbourhoods, budgets and group fit for hen party houses in Clachan.
Is Clachan a good hen base?
Yes, if your bride wants peninsula quiet, seafood at Skipness and whisky day trips toward Campbeltown rather than city nightlife.
Where is Clachan?
Clachan lies on the east coast of Kintyre between Tarbert and Campbeltown, with Skipness Castle and Kilbrannan Sound views toward Arran.
Do we need a car?
Yes. Kintyre is single-track road country. Tarbert, Campbeltown and ferry ports need driving, so confirm parking for every guest car.
Can we reach Islay from Kintyre?
Ferries run from Kennacraig near Tarbert to Islay distilleries. Book car spaces ahead for group day trips because summer sailings fill quickly.
What is Skipness Castle?
Skipness Castle and chapel ruin sit on the shore near Clachan with views across to Arran, good for a group afternoon walk before pub tea.
Are hen parties welcome near Clachan?
On Hen Hideaways, yes. We only list houses that accept celebration groups. Clachan works when you treat the garden or hot tub as your main venue once the pubs shut.
Clachan or Tarbert?
Tarbert has harbour restaurants and the Islay ferry. Clachan is quieter with Skipness Castle on the doorstep.
What is the one Clachan booking mistake?
Assuming you can hop to Islay without a ferry reservation. Summer car spaces from Kennacraig sell out and sailings can be weather-dependent.
