17 of us stayed in the house for a hen weekend and had the most brilliant time. From the beginning Ann was so helpful and flexible with check in times. The house is huge and is well stocked with crockery, glasses, utensils, linen etc etc. The surroundings are beautiful and the enjoyed use of the new hot tub! The decor is a little tired looking and parts could do with a bit of a refurbishment, some of the sofas etc were threadbare and marked. This did not however take away from how impressive the house is with fantastic features such as wood burning fires and a bar.Luxe Victorian Hen House with Hot Tub | Argyll | Sleeps 16

A wonderful place for a large gathering, we had a special birthday with more than a dozen family members and the house had ample space for everyone. Host contact was top notch, and The Hollies was exactly as described.Pool Hen House | Tighnabruaich | Sleeps 16

This is a beautiful home and the pictures don't do it justice. Graeme and Lorraine were super helpful and even arranged to have food ready in the pantry when we arrived. Wonderful stay and location for a relaxing time.Pool Hen House | Tighnabruaich | Sleeps 16
Tighnabruaich Hen Party Houses: Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers about booking, neighbourhoods, budgets and group fit for hen party houses in Tighnabruaich.
Is Tighnabruaich good for a hen weekend?
Yes, if your bride wants coastal walks, Colintraive ferry hops toward Bute and seafood pub evenings with Glasgow reachable for one night out.
Where is Tighnabruaich?
The village sits on the east shore of the Kyles of Bute on the Cowal peninsula, popular with sailing crews and Glasgow weekenders escaping the city.
Do we need a car?
Yes. Cowal peninsula villages need cars for Mount Stuart House on Bute, Dunoon and supermarket runs along single-track sections.
What is Mount Stuart?
Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute is a Gothic mansion with gardens, reachable by ferry from Colintraive. Book house tours ahead for groups.
How far is Glasgow?
Glasgow city centre is about ninety minutes via Rest and Be Thankful pass or ferry combinations. Plan one big night rather than popping back and forth.
Are hen parties welcome in Tighnabruaich?
On Hen Hideaways, yes. We only list houses that accept celebration groups. Tighnabruaich works when you treat the garden as your main venue after the harbour pubs shut.
Tighnabruaich or Dunoon?
Dunoon is larger with more shops and a busier promenade. Tighnabruaich is the prettier yachting village on the Kyles.
What is the one Tighnabruaich booking mistake?
Forgetting the Colintraive ferry timetable when you plan a Bute day. Last sailings are early and summer queues at the slip can eat an hour.
