Luxe Hen Barn with Pool, Spa & Hot Tub | Mid Wales | Sleeps 14

The space

Bedw Barn brings together the best bits of a country hen weekend: space to celebrate, room to properly relax, and standout facilities that keep the whole group entertained from arrival to checkout. Set in Aberhafesp, near Newtown in Mid Wales, this luxury barn sleeps up to 14 guests and looks out across rolling Welsh countryside, giving your group a peaceful base with a big-house feel.

The layout has clearly been designed with groups in mind. The main living space sits on the first floor to make the most of the views, while the indoor heated swimming pool sits at the heart of the house, so the action never feels tucked away. Whether you are planning a chilled spa-style weekend, a prosecco-and-pool afternoon, a relaxed dinner with everyone around the table, or a cosy film night after a day exploring, Bedw Barn gives you the space and facilities to build the weekend around the bride-to-be.

It is also a great choice for mixed-energy groups. There are large communal areas for games, food, drinks and catch-ups, but with seven bedrooms, multiple bathrooms and generous grounds, there is enough space for anyone who wants a quieter moment with a coffee and a countryside view.

Inside the house

Bedw Barn sleeps 14 guests across seven bedrooms, making it a strong option for a full hen group staying under one roof. The bedroom layout includes two king-size rooms, two double rooms, one twin room and two bunk rooms, spread across the ground and upper floors. Four bedrooms are on the ground floor underneath the main reception area, while three more sit upstairs above the cinema room, giving the group a practical layout for different sleeping arrangements.

The open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge is the social hub of the house. Bright, modern grey and white décor gives the property a fresh, calming feel, while the first-floor position frames the Welsh hill views beautifully. It is an easy space for a celebration meal, grazing table, cocktail-making session or slow breakfast the morning after a big night.

For entertainment, the cinema room on the ground floor is a real bonus. Use it for a film marathon, hen party quiz, photo slideshow, games night or a relaxed pyjama evening with snacks. The indoor heated swimming pool adds another standout feature, with three sets of doors helping connect the pool area to the outdoors in warmer weather. There are also two main bathrooms, one en-suite bathroom and two additional toilets, plus a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, which is especially useful for longer stays or activity-packed weekends.

Hen weekend highlights

The indoor pool is the big talking point at Bedw Barn, and it gives the weekend a resort-style feel without needing to travel anywhere. It is ideal for a relaxed swim, poolside nibbles, group photos or a fun afternoon before getting ready for dinner. The large hot tub is set in a partially glazed room beside the barn, with sweeping valley views, so the group can soak, chat and toast the bride whatever the weather.

For pampering, the owners have an on-site beauty salon and spa, Out of Town Beauty, located at the back of the barn parking area. Treatments are subject to availability, but it is a brilliant extra for hens who want massages, beauty appointments or a little pre-party polish without organising transport.

Outside, the front terrace has seating for sunny afternoons, plus a BBQ and fire pit for relaxed outdoor dining. The grounds are spacious enough for garden games, team challenges, picnic-style lunches or a few silly hen party competitions. With a pool, hot tub, cinema room, spa access, terrace and gardens all in one place, you can keep the itinerary as full or as laid-back as you like.

Location & getting around

Bedw Barn is located in Aberhafesp, a peaceful Mid Wales village setting just outside Newtown. The immediate surroundings are all about countryside views, open space and a slower pace, so it works especially well for groups who want a private-feeling celebration rather than a city-centre party house.

Newtown is the nearest main town for supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and low-key evening drinks, and is around a short drive away. For daytime plans, the wider Welsh Marches and Mid Wales area offers scenic walks, country pubs, outdoor activities and pretty market towns. If your group wants to mix house-based fun with a day out, you can plan anything from a countryside walk and pub lunch to local activities arranged with nearby providers.

Because of the rural location, having cars or pre-booked taxis is recommended, especially for supermarket runs, meals out or evenings in Newtown. The reward is a spacious base with parking, big views and no need to compromise on facilities once you are back at the house.
