All 9 of us - 8 adults and a toddler (plus a dog) - enjoyed our stay! The house is well equipped and in a peaceful location. We enjoyed a relaxed New Year's getaway with lots of great home cooked meals in the fabulous kitchen. As the responsible adult challenged with organising a group of guys mountain biking trip to Scotland, there were points in the search where I thought I was beaten when looking for accommodation which met the list of must haves, single beds, bike storage with electric feed for charging, bike cleaning facilities, equidistant to the trail centres, a reasonable taxi ride to Edinburgh for a night out etc. At first glance Hillhouse didn't necessarily tick all the boxes, but once I'd strook up dialogue with Jo, the accommodation host, she found a way to facilitate all our needs. What a lovely spot, only disappointed we didn't get the time to explore the area more, you could leave the handbrake on the car and amuse yourself from the doorstep.
