Such a lovely weekend celebrating a friends hen do! The house was lovely, it was clean, inviting & had everything we needed. All of our questions were answered promptly- the hot tub was maintained daily, and they even got out some extra toilet roll when asked.
Highly recommend for a group holiday!
what an incredible place!
highly recommend, I booked this cottage for my hen do in december. Graham was really helpful and answered all my questions leading up to the date. The chapel is beautiful inside and the living social space is perfect for large gatherings.
it was really easy to find and did not require any single track lanes as lots of cottages do! there was a large driveway for everyone to park on and then the rooms were all spacious to sleep 16 of us. it didn't feel crammed and the beds were really comfortable. The house was immaculate and they had left us a welcome hamper to arrive to with wine and bread, biscuits coffee and tea. This was a really nice touch. The kitchen was really well equipped, I have stayed at mant hot tub lodges and it was the best for having all the amenities we needed. There was so much space for all our food and drink. It was very easy to decorate and as it was christmas they had the tree and fairy lights up with decorations
Staying at The Roundhouse is an absolute must.
It is in a great location, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so welcoming, helpful and accommodating.
We were left a card and some bubbly to congratulate us on our recent wedding which was a lovely personal touch.
We couldn’t recommend it enough and only wish that we could have stayed longer!
We stayed here for a weekend for a he party. It was exactly what we needed. A wonderful location as It’s so isolated with beautiful surroundings. The property itself is full of character and history. As we were a group of 12 there were plenty of things for all us. Some people could enjoy the hot tub and being outside by the fire pit while others stayed indoors to relax and play with the endless games that were left at the property. The chapel was clean and well presented. It provided a cosy and functional feel to it. The hosts were fantastic and their communication before, during and after our stay was brilliant as they always responded in a timely manner. We would all definitely recommend this property to others.
Practical answers about booking, neighbourhoods, budgets and group fit for hen party houses in Bude.
Is Bude good for a hen weekend?
Yes, if you want surf, wide beaches and a compact town with cafes and the Bude Canal towpath. Nightlife is pub led rather than club heavy, so plan the house as your main celebration evening.
What is special about Bude Sea Pool?
The semi-natural tidal pool at Summerleaze Beach is free year round and refreshed by the Atlantic at high tide. Check tide times before you plan a swim, as the pool is best around low tide.
Do we need a car from a Bude hen house?
Town-centre groups can walk to Summerleaze and Crooklets, but Devon listings are often rural. Check your property map pin for parking and plan drives to Widemouth Bay or Crackington Haven for cliff walks.
Bude, Woolacombe or Croyde?
Bude has the sea pool and canal character on the Cornwall border. Woolacombe and Croyde are deeper into north Devon surf country. Match beach days to drive time from your house.
Can we walk the canal from Bude?
Yes. The Bude Canal towpath is a flat route popular with walkers and cyclists. It pairs well with a morning swim at the sea pool and an afternoon back at the house hot tub.
Are hen parties welcome in Bude?
On Hen Hideaways, yes. We list hen-friendly houses. Pre-drink in town or at the house, then keep late noise sensible if you are in a lane cottage.
How far ahead should we book near Bude?
Summer weeks and surf season fill quickly across north Devon. Sort your house first, then book surf hire and seafront restaurants.
What tide mistake do groups make at Bude?
Turning up at the sea pool at the wrong tide and finding it empty or rough. Check Bude tide tables before you promise the group a sunrise swim.
