Such a lovely weekend celebrating a friends hen do! The house was lovely, it was clean, inviting & had everything we needed. All of our questions were answered promptly- the hot tub was maintained daily, and they even got out some extra toilet roll when asked.
Highly recommend for a group holiday!
what an incredible place!
highly recommend, I booked this cottage for my hen do in december. Graham was really helpful and answered all my questions leading up to the date. The chapel is beautiful inside and the living social space is perfect for large gatherings.
it was really easy to find and did not require any single track lanes as lots of cottages do! there was a large driveway for everyone to park on and then the rooms were all spacious to sleep 16 of us. it didn't feel crammed and the beds were really comfortable. The house was immaculate and they had left us a welcome hamper to arrive to with wine and bread, biscuits coffee and tea. This was a really nice touch. The kitchen was really well equipped, I have stayed at mant hot tub lodges and it was the best for having all the amenities we needed. There was so much space for all our food and drink. It was very easy to decorate and as it was christmas they had the tree and fairy lights up with decorations
Staying at The Roundhouse is an absolute must.
It is in a great location, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so welcoming, helpful and accommodating.
We were left a card and some bubbly to congratulate us on our recent wedding which was a lovely personal touch.
We couldn’t recommend it enough and only wish that we could have stayed longer!
We stayed here for a weekend for a he party. It was exactly what we needed. A wonderful location as It’s so isolated with beautiful surroundings. The property itself is full of character and history. As we were a group of 12 there were plenty of things for all us. Some people could enjoy the hot tub and being outside by the fire pit while others stayed indoors to relax and play with the endless games that were left at the property. The chapel was clean and well presented. It provided a cosy and functional feel to it. The hosts were fantastic and their communication before, during and after our stay was brilliant as they always responded in a timely manner. We would all definitely recommend this property to others.
Exeter Hen Party Houses: Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers about booking, neighbourhoods, budgets and group fit for hen party houses in Exeter.
Is Exeter good for a hen weekend?
Yes, for a compact walkable city: cathedral green, Princesshay shopping, Gandy Street cocktails and Quayside waterside pubs. University energy keeps nightlife livelier than many expect for Devon.
Where should we go out in Exeter?
Quayside first for riverside drinks, Gandy Street and the West Quarter for independents, then Timepiece or Unit 1 for a late finish. Book dinner near the cathedral if you want a smarter start.
Do we need a car for an Exeter hen weekend?
Exeter station works for rail guests, but most hen houses sit outside the centre with parking and hot tubs. Book taxis back from Gandy Street if you sleep in the Culm Valley or Dartmoor fringe.
What daytime activities suit Exeter hens?
Red Coat guided tours of the Roman walls, RAMM museum, Quayside paddleboarding, cocktail or life-drawing classes in town. Dartmoor or the Jurassic Coast work if you have drivers and want a break from the city.
Exeter, Plymouth or Torbay?
Exeter is inland river city chic. Plymouth adds Barbican maritime nightlife. Torbay delivers English Riviera beaches and harbour clubs. Match the city to whether you want cocktails or coast.
Are hen parties welcome near Exeter?
On Hen Hideaways, yes. We list hen-friendly houses. Pre-drink at the house, then take the chaos into town rather than trying to recreate a club in the kitchen.
How far ahead should we book near Exeter?
Graduation weekends, rugby dates and summer Saturdays tighten demand. Sort sleep count and parking before you lock city restaurant tables.
What Exeter date catches groups out?
Rugby at Sandy Park or graduation weekend when every house within thirty miles vanishes. Check the university calendar before you promise the bride a specific date.
