Such a lovely weekend celebrating a friends hen do! The house was lovely, it was clean, inviting & had everything we needed. All of our questions were answered promptly- the hot tub was maintained daily, and they even got out some extra toilet roll when asked.
Highly recommend for a group holiday!
what an incredible place!
highly recommend, I booked this cottage for my hen do in december. Graham was really helpful and answered all my questions leading up to the date. The chapel is beautiful inside and the living social space is perfect for large gatherings.
it was really easy to find and did not require any single track lanes as lots of cottages do! there was a large driveway for everyone to park on and then the rooms were all spacious to sleep 16 of us. it didn't feel crammed and the beds were really comfortable. The house was immaculate and they had left us a welcome hamper to arrive to with wine and bread, biscuits coffee and tea. This was a really nice touch. The kitchen was really well equipped, I have stayed at mant hot tub lodges and it was the best for having all the amenities we needed. There was so much space for all our food and drink. It was very easy to decorate and as it was christmas they had the tree and fairy lights up with decorations
Staying at The Roundhouse is an absolute must.
It is in a great location, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so welcoming, helpful and accommodating.
We were left a card and some bubbly to congratulate us on our recent wedding which was a lovely personal touch.
We couldn’t recommend it enough and only wish that we could have stayed longer!
We stayed here for a weekend for a he party. It was exactly what we needed. A wonderful location as It’s so isolated with beautiful surroundings. The property itself is full of character and history. As we were a group of 12 there were plenty of things for all us. Some people could enjoy the hot tub and being outside by the fire pit while others stayed indoors to relax and play with the endless games that were left at the property. The chapel was clean and well presented. It provided a cosy and functional feel to it. The hosts were fantastic and their communication before, during and after our stay was brilliant as they always responded in a timely manner. We would all definitely recommend this property to others.
Poughill Hen Party Houses: Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers about booking, neighbourhoods, budgets and group fit for hen party houses in Poughill.
Is Poughill a good hen base?
Yes, for village quiet and easier parking while still reaching Bude's sea pool and Crooklets quickly. Evening plans usually shift to Bude pubs or the hen house.
Can we walk to the coast from Poughill?
Sandymouth and the South West Coast Path lie about a mile west, with cliffs toward Morwenstow. Crooklets and Summerleaze in Bude are walkable for fit groups or a quick taxi.
What is the Poughill Revel?
Village fair on the first Thursday in August with stalls, games and homemade cakes, part of north Cornwall revels leading to Bude Carnival later in the month.
Do we need a car from a Poughill hen house?
Coastal walks help daytime plans, but listings are often rural. Confirm parking and plan drives to Widemouth Bay if you split between beach and hot tub time.
Are hen parties welcome near Poughill?
On Hen Hideaways, yes. We list hen-friendly houses. Keep late noise in the garden in a village lane and use Bude for your big night if you need more bars.
Poughill or Bude town?
Bude for walkable sea pool mornings. Poughill for thatched village charm and often easier parking at a larger house.
How far ahead should we book near Poughill?
August revel weeks and summer coast demand fill quickly. Sort your house before you lock Bude restaurants or surf hire.
Why is St Olaf's Church famous locally?
The tower is a landmark above the village and a useful meeting point if your group splits between coast walks and supermarket runs in Bude.
